An Intoduction to SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Unreal thing?? It is not at all an unreal thing anymore, there is a whole industry now offering SEO and they consider SEO as a rocket science and also SEO is often considered as the technical part of the web marketing as it promotes websites and require a basic technical knowledge, like about HTML at least.

To the direct definition of the SEO, we can response by saying that SEO is a process by which a website is brought to the top pages of search engine(s), or usually we target to bring the website on the #1 ranking by optimizing.

The optimization is of two types basically:-

On-Page Optimization and,

Off-Page Optimization.

On-Page Optimization means a good website design having easily accessible codes. This part of optimization includes the HTML part; you need to include proper H1, H2 and titles for every page of your website. You need to be careful of what keywords you select for your website for optimization. Etc. The on-page optimization factor is not so important in the Google search engine but is of primary importance for search engines like Yahoo and MSN. But, one thing I have noticed is what , that when once your site gets on the #1 position in Google search engine, your On-Page data DOES MATTER. So, even if you are optimizing your website for Google only, you should do the on-page optimization carefully and when you want to see good results of optimization on more than one search engine, you need to do the on-page optimization carefully.

Off-Page Optimization focuses on link building. Link building is a technique of making the other webmasters to link your site with correct keyword in return to your link to their site. This technique basically improves the link popularity. The more links you get, the Google increases your page rank. There are various techniques to increase the links and bring your site on the top of the search engine(s); all these are considered as the off-page optimization factors.

SEO is something that you have to do often and a good thing is that SEO is not a complicated thing; it’s just about your interest and your way of doing work. We can also say that it is a sensible approach which matters in bringing a website on the #1 position.

CAREER IN SEO, a good thing to ask. Today all the offline industries are learning that if they want to remain in business, they need to start online business else they will loose their sales. The competition is very hard in all search engines so the need of an SEO expert will always remain. The SEO field will always grow.

This might not be an easy thing and take time, but once you know how to do the SEO, you would be earning good. It would be just like any other career.
