Headaches are a common problem. About 12% of the population suffers from migraines; counting sinus, tension, and cluster headaches, that number probably approaches 100%. While over-the-counter and prescription headache remedies often are appropriate, the expense and side effects can be problematic for some people.

Usually the headaches will be on one side of the head and often centered around one eye. Noise and light seem to be intolerable, and eating might be impossible. People sometimes will just go to bed with a migraine to try and lessen the pain. When the headache finally wears off, usually one to two days later, the sufferer will be pretty weak and shaken.

Celery seeds. You can find these at the grocery store. Soak the seeds in hot water, strain, and sip like tea.

Chamomile. Chamomile tea is calming and soothing, and readily available at the grocery store.

Cinnamon reduces stress, loosens tight muscles, and lowers blood pressure–all of which ease a headache.

Alternative Therapy

Acupuncture
This is part of traditional Chinese medicine. It involves inserting metal needles at the pain area thru hands or electric signals. This aims to stabilize serotonin and release endorphin. Some acupuncturists also perform moxibustion. This includes the use of burnt herb mugwort.

Chiropractic
Well trained chiropractic alleviates pain to improve sinus drainage. There are no existing studies conducted however some people are already practicing it.

Lavender Oil

This is the final step in the process. Lavender oil is renowned for its medicinal properties and this is doubly so for migraine headaches. Lavender oil is cheap and completely safe to use. Only use pure Lavender oil for treating migraines - lavender scented fragrances or scented oils are useless. It must be the purest lavender oil you can find.

If you feel a migraine attack coming then grab your lavender oil. Place a single drop of pure, undiluted lavender oil on each temple or behind each ear. Also place 2 or 3 drops of undiluted lavender oil on the pillow you’re going to rest on.

Feverfew – Feverfew contains substances that inhibit the release of mood hormones in the brain. For best results, use fresh feverfew. When this isn’t available, consume as tea or in capsule form.

Ginger – Ginger has long been known to relieve and also to prevent headaches. It is anti-inflammatory and contains substances that relieve pain. Take in capsule form, according to directions.

Massage therapies are often very effective forms of home remedies for migraine headaches. If you feel a migraine coming on, get a massage. Headaches and severe migraines are frequently caused by stress. When you are stressed, your muscles tighten up. A massage works to delicately stretch these tight muscles and help alleviate the accumulated stress in your body. By working the muscles in your neck and shoulders, as well as those at the base of the skull, muscles relax and the discomfort will be eliminated.

Treating A Headache Naturally - Homeopathy is a medical system that treats illnesses and injuries with specially prepared substances often referred to as “remedies”. These remedies are often derived from plants but there are some remedies that are of mineral or animal origin. Calcium, gold, iron and various salts are some of the more widely used mineral homeopathic remedies while bee and snake venom are some of the more popular homeopathic remedies derived from animal products.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me and my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research about this. We got a grab a book from our area library but I think I learned more from this post. I’m very glad to see such excellent info being shared freely out there.
