Women are always concerned with getting into the “bikini body”; but so many women struggle daily at the gym. Usually women struggle because they aren’t given the right advice about how to lose weight and look great. The best way to see those results is to get information straight from the people who know how to exercise the best – Personal Trainers! In this article there are four tips for exercise and nutrition that trainers want every woman to know about losing weight and looking great.

Women often equate hours in the gym and ‘calorie losses’ with losing weight. Unfortunately, this is time usually spend on a treadmill or elliptical. But the truth is cardio this isn’t the best way to trim down and get that great bikini body. The best thing that you can do to lower your size and look trim and slender is to be fit. And the best way to get fit is to develop lean muscle mass. One pound of lean muscle burns more calories than one pound of fat; and more importantly, muscle is denser than fat. Ten pounds of muscle takes up less space than ten pounds of fat. This means that the more muscle, the trimmer and leaner you will be. And you can seriously boost your lean muscle development by weight training and strength training. The most important thing a woman can do to lose weights is to balance cardio with strength and weight training.

One of the most valuable ways to maximize your strength training is to stretch. The importance of stretching to maintaining a healthy lifestyle that is conducive to losing weight cannot be emphasized enough. Stretching has a multitude of benefits. Stretching increases joint flexibility, reduces muscle tension, and can aid in healing sore and damaged muscle tissue. The most important benefit of stretching is that it increases circulation (blood flow) which helps increase energy output on the muscles. Stretching before exercising will help maximize the exercise by warming up muscle groups and moving the blood. Post-exercise stretching can help

Another way to maximize strength training is to make sure that you have enough protein in your diet. When you work out you are slowly tearing muscle fibers, and this is what gives the soreness that you feel the next day. In order to repair the torn muscles, your body requires amino acids which come to your body in the form of protein. However, most women on a diet try to cut out fatty cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches. That’s okay; you can also get muscle repairing protein in the form of a whey supplement. Using whey based supplements is recommended over soy based because whey supplements are dairy based and easier for your body to digest. Taking supplements after strength training will help repair muscles and also provide the building blocks for lean, fat burning, trim, muscle mass.

Besides protein, many women often fail to get the right nutrition to help them lose weight. You want to maximize your time in the gym, not waste it. The way most women fail to get the right nutrition is by not eating! Okay, maybe you are eating, but you need to eat smart. You can’t just cut calories and still cut nutrition. However, to be sure that you all the vitamins and nutrients you need without worrying about calorie count, you can take a multivitamin. A multivitamin that is customized for women will provide everything that is necessary, without relying on having everything coming from your diet. This gives you more flexibility in eating the low-cal foods you want, while still providing the right nutrients that help you work out in the gym.
